The Carson Valley Arts Council (C.V.A.C.) was established in May 2004 by a diverse group of individuals. Our mission is to develop, support, and encourage the performing and visual arts and cultural activities in Carson Valley. The group quickly identified an enormous void in our community; we lack a fixed-seating performing arts venue.
In a county with an estimated current population of 50,000 (State of Nevada Demographer) and an active base of 36 arts organizations, the need for a home to host live performances, craft workshops, exhibitions, and other art-related events is both immediate and compelling.
The C.V.A.C. was incorporated in the State of Nevada in September 2004 and was granted 501(c)(3) status in August, 2005. Last June we launched an online arts calendar for events taking place in the Carson Valley to assist local arts groups and individuals with coordinating and publicizing activities. Our goal for the immediate future is to provide our community with a performing and visual arts facility.
We are seeking volunteers to support cultural activities in the valley and to help in the creation of a performing and visual arts center. There are many ways you can help, find out how.
We are seeking financial contributions to further our efforts to provide the Carson Valley with its own Art Center. Donations to the CVAC are not just a gift to our community, they are also tax deductible
