Why Donate?
Pride in Our Creativity
Douglas County is home to many artists—visual and performing artists, makers, writers, and more.
Pride in Our Heritage
The Copeland Makers Space is located at the intersections of First Street, County Road and Hwy 395; the gateway to historic downtown Minden, and on the north border of downtown Gardnerville.
Pride in Building Our Community
CVAC acquired the historic Copeland Building in 2008 with the vision of turning it into a performing arts and cultural center for the community. The Copeland Building was placed on the Nevada Historical Register in 2022.
With focus for a Cultural & Performing Arts Community Center shifted to the current Carson Valley Cinemas facility, CVAC has decided to convert the Copeland Building into a Makers Space. In 2024 CVAC hired an architect to produce conceptual drawings for a repurposed use of the Copeland warehouse.
With preliminary architectural plans completed, CVAC is now positioned to raise funds necessary to renovate the Copeland Building.
